A Portrait You’ll Be Happy to Keep
School photo days don’t always go to plan.
Your child may have missed photo day, had messy hair, got their clothes dirty before their photograph was taken or simply not looked like themselves in the final picture.
A private studio session provides more time and individual attention. There are no long queues or pressure to produce an immediate smile. Your child can settle in while I create a choice of natural, polished portraits that show their personality.
Children can be photographed in school uniform, nursery clothing, casual clothes or an outfit connected with a sport or activity they enjoy.
Choose Your Portrait Session
School and Nursery Portraits
A relaxed alternative for children who missed photo day or families who would simply like another choice.
Your child can wear their school uniform, nursery clothing or a smart casual outfit. I’ll check their hair, clothing and positioning before taking the photographs so the small details aren’t overlooked.
Sibling Portraits
Brothers and sisters can be photographed individually and together—even if they attend different schools or nurseries.
These sessions are also suitable for cousins, close friends, dance partners and young teammates.
Sports, Dance and Activity Portraits
Celebrate the time, effort and personality your child puts into an activity they love.
Suitable outfits and themes include:
Football and rugby kits
Dance costumes and dancewear
Gymnastics clothing
Karate and martial-arts uniforms
Boxing and fitness clothing
Performing-arts costumes
Scouts, Guides and club uniforms
Other sports, hobbies and achievements
Children can also bring suitable items such as medals, trophies, dance shoes, footballs or boxing gloves.
Portraits can be traditional and polished or more energetic and creative, depending on your child’s personality and the activity being photographed.

A Calm Experience Built Around Your Child
Not every child feels comfortable smiling immediately—and that’s completely fine.
I keep each session relaxed and give children time to become comfortable with the studio and camera. Instead of repeatedly asking for a forced smile, I use conversation and gentle direction to encourage genuine expressions.
If your child is shy, anxious or needs additional support, please tell me beforehand so I can plan the session around them.
A parent or responsible adult must remain at the studio throughout the appointment.
Photographs will never be shared online or used for promotional purposes without permission from a parent or guardian.
What Should We Bring?
For school-style portraits, consider bringing:
School or nursery uniform on a hanger
A spare shirt, blouse or jumper
School tie, blazer or badge
Hairbrush or comb
Wipes for faces and hands
A casual outfit if included with your package
Bringing the uniform on a hanger helps keep it clean and reduces creasing during the journey.
For sports and activity portraits, bring:
A clean kit, costume or uniform
Correct footwear
Belts, badges or club accessories
Medals or trophies
Safe activity-related equipment
Please discuss large or specialist props with me before the session so I can confirm that they can be used safely.

Can we book if my child didn’t miss school photo day?
Yes. You don’t need a particular reason to arrange a session. Some families simply want another choice or prefer the extra time available during a private appointment.

Can we include medals, trophies or equipment?
Yes. Suitable medals, trophies and safe activity-related equipment can be included. Please discuss large or specialist items with me before your appointment.
What happens if my child is shy?
