Titan Wales Comic Con 2026: Behind the Scenes as an Official Event Photographer
Titan Wales Comic Con 2026 brought fans, cosplayers and pop-culture enthusiasts together at Cardiff City Stadium for a celebration of film, television, comics and gaming.
I was delighted to attend as one of the event’s official photographers, documenting the costumes, fan interactions and atmosphere throughout the day.
Photographing Titan Wales Comic Con in Cardiff
As a Cardiff event photographer, I regularly photograph a wide range of events across South Wales, from corporate events and conferences to live music, awards ceremonies and private celebrations. However, comic conventions are always something a little different.
There's a unique energy at a convention like Titan Wales Comic Con. From the moment the doors open, there's a constant stream of incredible costumes, excited fans and unexpected moments happening all around you.
For an event photographer, it's a fantastic environment to work in.
The challenge is to capture more than just posed photographs. It's about documenting the atmosphere of the event and telling the story of the day through the images – from impressive cosplay and fan interactions to the smaller, spontaneous moments that happen throughout the convention.
Carl Newman – The Ballet Bat
One of the special guests I photographed at Titan Wales Comic Con 2026 was Carl Newman, the professionally trained dancer who worked as Michael Keaton’s movement double in Tim Burton’s Batman (1989).
Known as the “Ballet Bat”, Carl helped shape Batman’s distinctive physical presence on screen, bringing grace, poise and controlled movement to the iconic Batsuit. It was brilliant to photograph him at Cardiff City Stadium alongside the 1989 Batmobile and Batman and Joker cosplayers—an especially memorable part of the event for fans of the film.
Capturing Cosplay and the Atmosphere
One of the highlights of photographing Titan Wales Comic Con was seeing the incredible creativity that went into the cosplay.
The time, effort and attention to detail that goes into some costumes is genuinely impressive, and it was fantastic to capture so many of them throughout the day.
From individual cosplayers to groups of friends and families enjoying the event together, there were photo opportunities everywhere. Every corner of the venue seemed to offer something different, making it an exciting and fast-paced day behind the camera.
As a comic con photographer, you never quite know what you're going to photograph next – and that's part of the fun.
Event Photography in Cardiff and South Wales
Photographing large-scale events requires a different approach to traditional portrait photography. You have to be constantly aware of what's happening around you, anticipate moments before they happen and work quickly without disrupting the event itself.
My approach to event photography in Cardiff and South Wales is all about capturing genuine moments and creating a visual record of the occasion. Whether it's a large public event such as a comic convention, a corporate conference, awards ceremony or private celebration, the aim is always to tell the story of the day through natural, engaging photography.
Titan Wales Comic Con was a brilliant example of why I enjoy event photography so much. There's always something happening, and every event has its own personality.
Thank You to Titan Wales Comic Con
A huge thank you to the team at Titan Wales Comic Con for having me along and giving me the opportunity to be one of the official photographers.
It was a pleasure to be part of such a fantastic event and to spend the day capturing the people, costumes and atmosphere that made Saturday so memorable.
Thank you as well to everyone who stopped for a photograph, posed for the camera or simply allowed me to capture you enjoying the day. Your enthusiasm and creativity made photographing the event an absolute pleasure.
I came away with a fantastic collection of images and some great memories from the day. Hopefully, I'll be back behind the camera at a future Titan Wales Comic Con!
